The Cook's Tarot

The Cook's Tarot

Publicado por Red Feather

The Cook's Tarot is built on a warmly argued premise: that the kitchen, with all its daily rituals, sensory pleasures, and creative problem-solving, is as good a lens as any for understanding the tarot's archetypes. The 78 hand-painted cards use a culinary theme throughout, with humor and color that make each card feel genuinely alive rather than simply illustrated.

Creator Judith Mackay Stirt draws on a lifetime of observing the great cooks of her Jamaican childhood, figures who embodied, in her view, the archetypes of Emperor, High Priestess, Mother, and Teacher all at once. The accompanying guidebook takes a narrative approach that provides real philosophical depth alongside the food-themed imagery. Card meanings are grounded in the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition while carrying their own original perspective.
