Named for the spring equinox, this deck was created by four Vancouver-based illustrators who met at art school and discovered a shared love for the occult. The 78 cards take the Major Arcana through a gallery of deities and mythic archetypes while the Minor Arcana use animal guides to carry each suit’s particular energy. The four creators bring distinct artistic sensibilities to the project, and the deck holds together through a shared commitment to vivid, nature-oriented imagery that celebrates the feminine and the wild. An accompanying guidebook provides upright and reversed meanings, keywords, and reflections on each card’s connection to the natural world.
Molly Applejohn, Eden Cooke, Krista Gibbard, and Julia Iredale are four illustrators living in Vancouver, Canada, who met at art school and went on to collaborate on this deck after discovering a shared interest in the occult. Their individual practices span comics, murals, children’s books, and illustration, and they continue to work on collaborative projects together.
