Marseille Tarot of Lando 1832

Marseille Tarot of Lando 1832

While some Piedmontese cardmakers of the early 19th century were moving toward newer tarot models, Giuseppe Maurizio Lando chose to stay close to the Marseille tradition. His deck is characterized by softer, more delicate lines than many French counterparts, with faces that feel particularly gentle and expressive. The Rinascimento Italian Style Art team printed this edition in faithful detail, matching the original colors, dimensions, and card backs, in a limited edition of 700 numbered and signed copies. It includes an unpublished booklet by Giordano Berti and Philippe Noyes covering the history of tarot in Savoy and Piedmont, the life of Lando, and the story of his wife Maria Antonia Rambaud, who continued the business after his death. A leaflet with divinatory meanings and reading methods by Giulia Orsini is also included.
