The Tea-Stained Tarot starts from the original 1909 Colman Smith Rider Waite artwork and transforms it into something that looks as if it has been passed down through generations. The imagery is rendered in warm sepia tones on what appears to be aged, tea-stained paper, giving the whole deck the feel of a treasured antique find. Despite that vintage appearance, the cards are printed on high-quality linen-finish 350 gsm card stock, which makes them genuinely pleasant to shuffle and handle for daily use. A 100-page guidebook is included and fits neatly into the two-part box.
Vieux Monde Express is a small tarot publishing house based in Nashville, Tennessee, focused on image restoration and the reproduction of historic European tarot and oracle decks. All of their decks are made in the USA and produced through properly licensed channels.
