The Sacred Rose Tarot has been in print for more than three decades, a longevity that speaks to both its visual appeal and its depth as a reading tool. The imagery takes inspiration from medieval stained glass, giving the cards a jewel-like quality of color and light that feels both ancient and vivid. The deck draws on Kabbalistic tradition and the Tree of Life as its underlying framework, alongside the symbolism of Byzantine icons and the recurring motif of the rose, one of the most layered symbols in the Western esoteric tradition. The included booklet, with a foreword by Stuart R. Kaplan, focuses on the spiritual dimensions of each card.
Johanna Gargiulo-Sherman is an artist who knew from an early age that she would one day create a tarot deck. She was commissioned to create the Sacred Rose Tarot, and the process of making it, she has said, sharpened her intuitive abilities considerably. She has been a featured guest on national television and radio, and was named one of the top five psychics by Woman's Own magazine.
