The New Chapter Tarot by Kathryn Briggs

The New Chapter Tarot grew out of one of the most difficult periods in its creator's life. Faced with the end of her marriage and an uncertain future as an immigrant with no professional network in her new country, Kathryn Briggs turned to painting as a way of processing what was happening. She painted the cards as feelings arose, and each one became an anchor for something real: the Queen of Swords became a friend who listened before offering hard advice, the Six of Disks became the adopted cat that helped her feel at home, Strength became a connection rediscovered after twenty years.

The completed deck follows a Thoth-compatible structure and reflects a circle of friendship, hope, and renewed purpose. The watercolor work is personal and emotionally precise, and the readings it delivers tend to speak with the same directness its creator brought to the making of it.
