The Golden Dawn Tarot

The Golden Dawn Tarot

The Golden Dawn Tarot offers an unusually direct window into the symbolic system developed by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, one of the most influential esoteric societies of the late nineteenth century. Artist Robert Wang produced the illustrations under the close guidance of Israel Regardie, working directly from the Order's private notebooks compiled by S. L. MacGregor Mathers.

Though the deck came together in the late twentieth century, it functions as a kind of missing link in tarot history, showing where decks like the Rider-Waite-Smith and the Thoth Tarot drew their ideas from. Packed with Qabalistic, astrological, and alchemical references, it was designed not just as a reading tool but as a teaching system, meant to awaken intuition and open pathways of esoteric study for serious practitioners.

Sobre los Creadores

Dr. Robert Wang illustrated The Golden Dawn Tarot in close collaboration with Israel Regardie (1907-1985), the noted occultist and former member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, whose writings did much to preserve and transmit the Order's teachings. Their work together brought previously restricted symbolic material into a form accessible to dedicated students of the esoteric tradition.
