The Camena Tarot is a 26-card divination deck built from a collaboration between artist Lou Benesch and tarot scholar Laetitia Barbier. It draws on the French tradition of reading with only the Major Arcana, presenting the 22 Marseille-style arcanas alongside four original Camena cards connected to the element of water. These additional cards take their name from the Camenae, ancient Roman water spirits and seers, and open what the creators describe as portals into the tradition of prophetic vision and intuitive flow.
Printed in an extra-large format with gilded edges, each card has genuine visual presence. The 70-plus-page guidebook written by Barbier covers the story of the deck's creation, poetic meditations on each card, interpretive guidance, and suggested spreads. This is a deck for readers willing to work with a shorter set of cards while going deeper with each one.
