The Tarocchino Montieri from 1721 is one of the rarest tarot decks in existence, with nearly all surviving copies destroyed under the influence of the church. This Lo Scarabeo Anima Antiqua reproduction brings it back into circulation as a numbered limited edition, faithful to the reduced card count of the Bolognese variant. Beyond the typical imagery, the original cards included Montieri's handwritten notes on eighteenth-century society, politics, and geography alongside ornamental illustrations, making it a document of its era as much as a tarot deck.
