Created in 1491, the Sola Busca holds a singular place in tarot history: it was the first deck to present every card with fully realized illustrated scenes and the first alchemical tarot ever made. Four centuries later, it directly inspired Pamela Colman Smith as she developed the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. This Golden Edition was conceived and supervised by tarot historian Giordano Berti and published in 2021 to mark the 1600th anniversary of the founding of Venice, and is limited to 777 copies worldwide. The card edges carry delicate gold gilding, each deck comes with a certificate of authenticity, and the edition number is revealed upon opening. Two packaging options are available: a deluxe book-shaped box lined with red velvet, and an art box, both handcrafted in Italy with marbleized paper and gold-laminated imagery. The Major Arcana feature heroes from Greek, Roman, and Biblical history, while the suit names differ from the standard: Disks instead of Coins, Clubs instead of Wands, and Amphorae instead of Cups.
Rinascimento Italian Style Art was founded by Giordano Berti, a writer and historian of esotericism in art who is known internationally for his scholarship on the Tarot and his design of educational games, and Letizia Rivetti, an art designer and founder of ArtStudioLetizia who creates environments, art installations, and art objects. Together they are committed to the historical study and faithful reproduction of ancient Tarots, rare playing cards, and oracular decks.
