Josephine Wall was born in Farnham, Surrey in 1947 and works at the intersection of symbolism and surrealism, drawing inspiration from the Pre-Raphaelites and the Surrealists to create her distinctive, immediately recognizable style. Her paintings are populated by fairies, nymphs, goddesses, and figures surrounded by intricate flowers and celestial symbols, all rendered in rich, layered color.
