Lisa Sterle replaced the traditional figures with young, fashion-forward women from a range of backgrounds and body types, creating a deck that feels contemporary and genuinely inclusive without abandoning the meanings readers rely on. The color palette is vivid and the character work is expressive, making each card feel inhabited by someone with their own story to tell.

Lisa Sterle is a Columbus-based artist whose work spans comic books, concept design, and pop-culture illustration. She is known for work with Vault Comics, IDW, and BOOM Studios, and is the co-creator of the comics Long Lost and Submerged. The Modern Witch Tarot is her most widely recognized independent creation.
