The Jean Noblet Tarot, produced in Paris around 1650, is believed to be among the oldest surviving Tarot de Marseille decks. The only known copy rests in the National Library of France. This Artisan Tarot edition is not a strict facsimile but a refined interpretation, redrawn and recolored with reference to the original and other historic Marseille decks. The goal was to capture the character and spirit of Noblet's work while giving modern readers something genuinely usable. The deck is compact, with a linen finish and 310 GSM card stock, easy to shuffle and satisfying to hold.
William Rader and Krisztin Kondor founded Artisan Tarot in 2019 with a clear mission: to bring historically significant tarot decks to modern readers through thoughtful, high-quality restorations. Krisztin holds a Master degree in Product and Graphic Design from the University of Sopron and specializes in linocut printmaking, a technique similar to how early tarot cards were made, giving her a distinctive perspective when working with historic imagery. William has spent over a decade as a reader and educator, regularly leading group readings and teaching tarot through Artisan Tarot courses.
