Ethereal Visions: Illuminated Tarot Deck
Matt Hughes drew on the Art Nouveau movement and the broader Golden Age of Illustration to create this hand-drawn, hand-colored 80-card deck. Every image has been finished with gold foil stamping, giving the cards a luminous quality that makes them a pleasure to look at even outside of a reading. Hughes also designed two additional cards to supplement the traditional Major Arcana, and his self-taught approach pulls from Art Nouveau, Pre-Raphaelite, and Symbolist sources to produce something that is recognizably influenced by the past while being entirely his own.

Matt Hughes is a writer, artist, and designer whose work has been exhibited in galleries internationally and featured in a wide range of publications including Art Scene International, Dark Realms Magazine, Realms of Fantasy, Heavy Metal, and Wizard Magazine. His illustrations have appeared in collaborative books such as Spectrum and Masters of Fantasy. In 2004 his illustration Boudicca was used on greeting cards given to the Lord of the Rings cast at an after-Oscar party, and that same year he received a Gallery Winner honor from the Society of Illustrators LA competition. In 2007 he won Best in Show at DragonCon and served as Art Show Judge the following year.
