CBD Tarot de Marseille

Creado por Yoav Ben-Dov
Publicado por U.S. Games Systems

The CBD Tarot de Marseille is a painstaking restoration of the influential 1760 Nicholas Conver deck, undertaken by Yoav Ben-Dov over three and a half years. The original woodblock lines were redrawn using a slow, organic process to preserve the non-uniform texture that gives the old print style its character, and the coloring references one of the earliest known Conver editions held at the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris.

Rather than correcting the peculiarities of the historical source, Ben-Dov kept many of its irregularities intact, treating them as intentional — a kind of built-in unpredictability that keeps the cards feeling alive. This 79-card deck includes a blank carte blanche card alongside a 56-page booklet with reading suggestions for both upright and reversed positions. It was voted one of the Top 50 Essential Tarot Decks by the Tarot Association community, the only Marseilles deck on that list.
